Company History
Based in Silverdale, Hick Bros Civil Construction Ltd has been a significant force in the earthmoving industry since it's formation in 1986.
Originally the company was established by four brothers - Bob, Wayne, Bill and Steve, all of whom brought with them extensive experience in the earthmoving industry working both individually and combining for larger projects.
In 1989, a fifth brother, Gary, joined the company bringing with him experience in both management and company administration. Bob and Bill have since left the directorship of the company to pursue their own interests but both are still our main earthmoving sub-contractors.
Wayne and Steve both continue as Directors and with active roles within the day to day operation of the organization. Their invaluable hands on experience adds to the strength of the Directorship’s collective experience and skill.
In 1999 Mark Cole joined the company as our Project Engineer, assisting in the development of company management and enabling more substantial projects to be undertaken as head contractor. Mark is now a Director and leads the tender processing team ensuring that successful tenders become successful contracts, driving this with an emphasis on maintaining good long-term relationships with our clients.
In 2006 Rob Fenwick joined the team as Project Manager and subsequently Regional Manager of the North Island. Recently joining the directorship of the company Rob has brought his extensive experience including a strong understanding and development of construction methodologies, large earthworks and land stabilization projects and difficult engineering soils. Rob is team focused, and draws on the collective knowledge of the team to achieve innovative or best for project solutions to problems.
Despite significant change and growth, being a business with a core of family members and an employer of local staff, we maintain that family dynamic with our now much larger extended family. |
