Mark Cole

Managing Director
NZCE Civil

Mark has extensive engineering experience bringing to his role of Managing Director a depth of practical civil construction knowledge. Joining the company in 1999 as Project Engineer Mark has grown with the company over the last 10+ years.

Mark has driven the development of critical paths which enable us to deliver the client’s vision on time and on budget, through good client relationship management.

Leading the tender processing team, he ensures that successful tenders become successful contracts, and secures good long-term relationships with our clients, throughout construction and beyond project completion.

Steve Hick

Director/Project Manager

With more than 25 years experience in earthmoving and civil construction, Steve is one of the Founding Members and Directors of Hick Bros Civil.

As Project Manager, his projects benefit from his great understanding of construction techniques and earthmoving operations. He enjoys being on the ground and taking a 'hands-on’ approach to managing contracts.

Steve believes the company's success is due to its open lines of communication ‘no problem goes unsolved at Hick Bros Civil, knowledge is shared to resolve issues’.

Wayne Hick

Director/Project Manager

A Founding Director, Wayne began his earthmoving career over 40 years ago. He is able to offer a wealth of knowledge, experience and versatility to our projects.

Wayne is also a Project Manager, applying his abundant experience to the daily running of operations on site. He is still behind the controls of a machine on a daily basis leading by example.

Wayne believes the company’s success lies in the team dynamic, and the vast experience and commitment from their long term staff.

Cherry Hick

Finance Director

As Finance Director, Cherry’s role has evolved with the company. With a background in administration and business management, she has led the administration team since the company’s founding in 1986 her position increasing in scope since then.

Cherry has been an integral part of our administration planning and progress, shaping the way our executive and administrative support has developed.

Cherry’s passion for the company runs deep and she believes that despite rapid growth and development it maintains its family dynamic.

Her qualifications include -
• ISO 9002 Auditor
• ISO 14001 EMS Lead assessor/auditor

Rob Fenwick

Director/Regional Manager
NZCE Civil, NZQC Laboratory Management

Rob joined Hick Bros in 2006 as Project Engineer, joining the board as a Director in 2010. His previous engineering experience gives him a strong understanding and development of construction methodologies.

To his role as Regional Manager he brings considerable experience from large earthworks and land stabilization projects, as well as, a comprehensive understanding of geotech from research into difficult engineering soils.

Rob is team focused, and draws on the collective knowledge of the team to achieve innovative or best for project solutions to problems. He emphasizes the importance of offering our clients both quality and value through this innovative approach to engineering.

Peter Andrew

Project Engineer
NZCE Civil

Peter joined Hick Bros in February 2007 as Project Engineer on the Westfield NZ Albany Development. He has since taken on the role of Project Engineer on many major projects throughout the North Island.

Previously Peter has worked on civil construction development and maintenance projects throughout New Zealand and Australia, including Sub-divisional, Resource Mining, Airport Runway, and State Highway construction. This experience in both infrastructure and land development is well utilised in our varied scope of projects.

Passion and commitment drives Peter, and through quality systems and established relationships with suppliers and consultants he always delivers on his project requirements.

Paul Reid

Estimating Manager
Dip. Building and Construction Management
NZC QS

As our Contract Estimating Manager Paul is an important part of the team, contributing his comprehensive experience in quantity surveying to all our project tenders.

Paul came to us with invaluable breadth of experience estimating and tendering for projects both in New Zealand and the Pacific. He has vast work history of preparing and submitting tenders for both infrastructure and land development projects including major infrastructure in the Fiji Islands.

His contribution has been a significant factor to our successful bids for many large project tenders.
